Time posted an article today entitled ”The Science of Romance:  Why We Love“.  I started reading it thinking to myself how long does this whole love thing really last?  One article led to another and I started finding articles on the stages of Love and Marriage and what to expect…  And with the divorce rate so high, I think we all should really take a look into what the hell is really going wrong and be prepared for the reality of what actually happens rather than the fairytale of Happy Ever After.  Ok that’s easier said then done because I will always be a dreamer, only because its more fun.

According to the Five Stages of Marriage, the stages for most relationships are as follows:

Stage 1:  Passion Prevails

Stage 2:  What was I thinking

Stage 3:  Everything would be great if you changed

Stage 4:  That’s just the way any partner is

Stage 5:  Together at last

Of course this may not be the case for certain types of marriage modelsReaders Digest also has a nice section on the subject that can be used for further resources on the subject.
