The Importance of Drinking Water

glass-of-water.jpg

I just received this email from a friend. I’m not sure how valid it is but it surely can’t hurt to try it.  I’m not too excited about the last part of the advice involving what happens if you drink cold water after food… because i’m obsessed with ice cold water at all times of the day.  But you can be sure i’ll be drinking less of it 😉

It is popular in Japan today to drink water immediately after waking up every morning. Furthermore, scientific tests have proven its value. We publish below a description of use of water for our readers. For old and serious diseases as well as modern illnesses the water treatment had been found successful by a Japanese medical society as a 100% cure for the following diseases:
Headache, body ache, heart system, arthritis, fast heartbeat, epilepsy, excess fatness, bronchitis, asthma, TB, meningitis, kidney and urine diseases, vomiting, gastritis, diarrhea, piles, diabetes, constipation, all eye diseases, womb, cancer and menstrual disorders, ear nose and throat diseases.
METHOD OF TREATMENT
1.  As you wake up in the morning before brushing teeth, drink 4 x 160ml glasses of water
2. Brush and clean the mouth but do not eat or drink anything for 45 minute
3. After 45 minutes you may eat and drink as normal.
4. After 15 minutes of breakfast, lunch and dinner do not eat or drink anything for 2 hours
5.Those who are old or sick and are unable to drink 4 glasses of water atthe beginning may commence by taking little water and graduallyincrease it to 4 glasses per day.
6. The above method of treatment will cure diseases of the sick and others can enjoy a healthy life.

The following list gives the number of days of treatment required to cure/control/reduce main diseases:

1. High Blood Pressure (30 days)
2. Gastric (10 days)
3. Diabetes (30 days)
4. Constipation (10 days)
5. Cancer (180 days)
6. TB (90 days)
7. Arthritis patients should follow the above treatment only for 3 days in the 1st week, and from 2nd week onwards – daily.

This treatment method has no side effects, however at the commencement of treatment you may have to urinate a few times.

It is better if we continue this and make this procedure as a routine our life. Drink Water and Stay healthy and Active. This makes sense ..

The Chinese and Japanese drink hot tea with their meals .. not cold water. Maybe it is time we adopt their drinking habit while eating!!! Nothing to lose, everything to gain…For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to you.
It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the coldwater will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion.

Once this ‘sludge’ reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine. Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.

Self Help has just stepped up to a new level.  Yahoo News posted about Ian Usher’s bold move in Australia last week.  He put his life and belongings up for sale claiming that he wanted to start a new life.  On his website, www.alife4sale.com; he explains the Who, What, Why, How, When and Where.  He’s even got a 100 day countdown weblog going for all those who are contemplating the idea before the 7 day auction in June.

———-

SYDNEY (Reuters) – A man in Australia is auctioning his life — his house, his job, his clothes and his friends — on eBay, after his marriage broke up, saying he wants to start a new life.

It’s time to move. A completely fresh start. I want to see where life takes me,” Ian Usher, 44, told Australian television on Tuesday from Perth in Western Australia state.

Usher said he was auctioning his life as “a package” with his house in Perth valued at around A$420,000 (US$385,000).

“Hi there, my name is Ian Usher, and I have had enough of my life! I don’t want it any more! You can have it if you like!,” reads his Web site www.alife4sale.com, which has a link to eBay for bidders.

Usher said his life auction, which starts on June 22, included not only his house, a car, a motorbike, a jet ski and a spa, but also an introduction to “great friends” and a job at a rug shop in Perth for a trial two-week period.

“When it’s over, I will just walk out the front door, take my wallet, my passport and start a new life,” he said.

Usher said his ex-wife had heard of his auction.

“Her last comment was, ‘it seems a bit mental to me’,” he said.

Shockvertising: Do or Don’t?

I just came across this ad for Stella Espresso Coffee and was in utter disgust.  Do these people honestly think that this would get me to drink their coffee? According to the Article , “This is an ad from Stella Espresso Coffee which seeks to express to coffee drinkers in Italy just how strong their coffee is and how much “bite” it really has.”

I looked a bit more into the whole subject of Shockvertising as well as an article on the controversy of whether it works or not and I guess that it may work in some circumstances but it depends on the target audience you are dealing with as well as the product category. If handled tastefully, it may be a good tactic for clothes or non food products.  BUT NOT FOOD! In the case above, I think the negative images associated with it will not help in stimulating me to try or go out and look for this drink… Even if the scorpion is made of coffee beans. I can assure you though, that I won’t forget about it!

The End of Earth?

According to a NY Times article, Kissing the Earth Goodbye in About 7.59 Billion Years, the future doesn’t look too promising for our beautiful earth.  To think that everything we are fighting over right now and all those breathtaking landmarks and man made monuments we have invested into making our home an evolving masterpiece could all be history one day if no alternatives are considered.  And those alternatives can’t be as heroic as Noah’s arc or a grand global gesture against Global warming, because according to these scientists, the sun will take us out no matter what happens.

So basically our only choice is to move to other planets if rendered feasible.  As for memories of earth, I guess maybe they can set up libraries of books as well as museums holding pieces of the Pyramids and the Grand Canyon and an Album of Micheal Jackson (hehehe).  No seriously, although it’s very far fetched, its quite sad to think about.

Yesterday Hanx came over and I was downloading music and I made the mistake of letting him hear the music I was downloading to the likes of Celine Dion, West Life and Total Eclipse of the Heart.  LOL.  I’m starting to believe that these meaningful love songs were only made for us girls cuz I don’t think I’ve ever heard a guy listening to them unless maybe it was by Bon Jovi or Scorpions.  So then I told him about movies and other things that make me cry and how I enjoy letting it pour out.  Excitedly waiting to see what songs and movies move Hanx… I get nothing.  hehehe. I should have known.  But it was kind of a relieved anyway cuz afterall we would love a man to be maybe 2% more emotional but more than that might be going overboard. The only time I actually had a guy admit to dropping one tear during a movie was during “Armageddon”  when (or because) Bruce Willis dropped the tear before he saved the world. lollllll. My goodness men trully are from Mars.

I personally love a good cry now and then.  I hate keeping things in.  So a once every few months “Sob session” is such a good remedy to let it all out and refresh 🙂  You just have to find out what does the job for you…. Movies, Songs, Pictures, Memories, Novels, Onions 😉

A Game That Will Improve Any Relationship

A Game That Will Improve Any Relationship

One of the best ways to improve and deepen a relationship is mutual understanding. What’s the best way to achieve this? Asking questions, really listening, and then sharing your stories too. I originally developed this idea as a way to grow your relationship with your child, and then it occurred to me that this communication game could benefit all relationships. How well do you really know your child, spouse, mate, or friend? Sometimes we take our closest relationships for granted. This game provides the spark to create a richer relationship!

What follows is a game you can “play” with another person to learn more about each other, have a few laughs and deepen your bonds.
It can be “played” one-on-one or in a group. The GameTake turns asking and answering the questions below. There are no exact rules. The idea is to have fun mostly with just the conversation. You can modify questions for younger children. You can introduce drawing or painting, singing or charades. You could throw a bean bag back and forth each time you do a new question? You can do this standing, sitting, or walking. It can be played inside, outside or over the phone. It’s not a competitive game. It’s a game of fun, warmth, and relationship building.Print out the questions below. You can either take turns asking questions you like from the list or you can randomly choose numbers, whatever works for you. If other questions follow naturally, all the better. Let the conversation flow! Let us know how you modify the game for more fun!The Questions (for any age – feel free to modify)

Picture of the Year!!!

Oh how I love these pictures.  Talk about a picture is worth a thousand words… or emotions for that matter.  I wonder whether these are staged or for real because i don’t know how they always managed to end up in these happily ever after poses back in the day.  I have never ended up in one of those and if i did, the only place I would end up is on the floor with a backache.  I will just assume that it is for real….  It’s pictures like these that make you really want to fall in mad love.  This is also probably the reason that almost every woman likes a man in uniform.  Uniforms can literally change a man’s total appearance from ugly to average and from average to OMG!

Back to the picture at hand, I really wish that romance like this would come back (even if it was only a trend) and not just for 16 to 20 year olds.  Unfortunately, with our lifestyle today of “let’s put it all on the table and get comfortable,” I doubt that will or can happen.  There is nothing left to the future anymore or to mystery.  On our grandparents and parents days, you dated and dated and there was a significant amount of time between 1st, 2nd and 3rd base – and that’s if you reached the bases before marriage.  Nowadays, the time it takes between bases is a matter of minutes or maximum months.  It’s a sad reality (for me atleast).  But its always nice to dream.  Yes our concept of romance has changed but its always nice to listen to the stories of our parents and dream that one day, our prince will come and rescue us “Pretty woman” style.

Men’s Health has published just what the doctor ordered.  A He Said / She Said in the form of two articles:

1.  50 Things Men wish you Knew

2.  50 Things She wish you Knew

From the girl’s point of view about what we wished that he knew, those points are right on the money.

Kate Beckinsale

 kate3.jpgkate2.jpg

Just a quick tribute to my personal favorite actress out there.  If I were to choose who I think to be the most beautiful actress and someone who I would love to look like…. It would definitly be Kate.  I wonder why she hasn’t gotten the credit she deserves.  I mean people are literally knocking over for Scarlett Johanneson and Kiera Knightly to name a few when Kate overshadows them by far.  Maybe it’s because she doesn’t care about the spot light.  No Dirt = No Publicity = No Beauty.  I have no clue.  But something doesn’t add up.
